A digital revolution that affects everyone

Digital Citizenship is an authentic cultural and technological revolution that touches every aspect of our daily lives and our relationship with the Public Administration.
Being a digital citizen means knowing how to consciously and safely use the tools that allow us to access public services online, communicate with institutions, make payments, and sign documents electronically.

Today, being aware of and knowing how to use tools such as SPID, CIE, digital signature, pagoPA and App IO is no longer optional. These are fundamental skills necessary to fully exercise one's rights and duties in the digital age.

Course objective

The aim of the Digital Citizenship course is to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills to safely navigate the digital services of the Public Administration.
Clear language and practical examples will be used to help citizens understand how to make wise use of the digital tools provided by the state and local authorities.

Contents

The pillars of Digital Citizenship that we want to explore during the course, and which we offer as a support activity to citizens, concern the main digital tools and services of the Public Administration.

Digital Identity

Digital identity is the key to accessing online services provided by the Public Administration using credentials that unequivocally identify the citizen through tools such as the Public Digital Identity System (SPID), the Electronic Identity Card (CIE) and the National Services Card (CNS).

The Public Services App

Italy has chosen a mobile platform, the IO app, as a single access point where citizens can consult online services provided by the Public Administration easily, securely, and on their smartphones.

Electronic Payments

pagoPA is a nationwide electronic payment system which simplifies and standardises processes through which citizens pay bills, tuition fees, fines, and all other expenses to the public administration. It is available to all citizens in all regions.

The Electronic Signature

An electronic signature is the equivalent of a handwritten signature affixed to a digital document. Using a digital signature makes it possible to associate the data used to unequivocally identify the citizen and his or her actual intention to sign the document

Legal Domicile

The digital domicile was created to simplify the relationship between the Public Administration, businesses, professionals, and citizens. Communications sent to a digital domicile, based on a PEC (certified electronic mail) address, have the same legal value as a registered letter with return receipt, which makes handling of official communication faster and more secure.

Who is the course for?

This meeting is for all citizens aged between 18 and 74 interested in improving their basic digital skills and understanding how to simply and securely use the main online services of the Public Administration.

The course is designed both for people approaching digital tools for the first time and for those who wish to become more independent in using services such as SPID, CIE, App IO, pagoPA, digital signature, and digital domicile.

An initiative within the framework of the European Digital Decade

This meeting dedicated to Digital Citizenship is part of the European strategy “Digital Decade 2030”, the programme through which the European Union aims to ensure that, by 2030, all citizens have basic digital skills and can access public services online in a simple, secure and inclusive way.

The initiative is promoted by Consorzio.it and I.I.S. Galileo Galilei, in collaboration with the Cremona Territorial Campus of the Politecnico di Milano and CRES (Cremona Engineering Students), with the aim of fostering the dissemination of a conscious digital culture and accompanying citizens on their path towards full and active participation in the digital life of the country.
